Stocks in the news: Bharti Airtel, RIL, Future Retail, Adani Green and Jubilant FoodWorks

Nifty futures trading on the Singapore Exchange were up 41.50 points or 0.28 per cent at 14,780.20, having moved within a range of 14,744.50-14,792.80 earlier, in signs that Dalal Street was headed for a positive start on Wednesday. Here are a few stocks which may buzz the most in today’s trade:

Reliance Industries-Future Group: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday provided relief to Amazon as it asked Future Group to maintain the status quo in its deal to sell its retail and wholesale assets to Reliance Industries in a major setback for both companies. Amazon has contested the deal between RIL and Future Group. Future Retail said it will explore all legal remedies and take appropriate steps to pursue the scheme of arrangement.

Bharti Airtel, Adani Green, Jubilant FoodWorks: Bharti Airtel, Adani Green, Adani Enterprises, Jubilant FoodWorks and Ramco Cement are scheduled to report their quarterly earnings on Wednesday. Apollo Tyre, City Union Bank, Thermax, Procter & Gamble, VGuard, Sheela Foam, SIS and Bajaj Corp will also be reporting earnings financial results on the same day.

Tata Consumer Products: The company reported year-on-year growth of 31.3 per cent in adjusted net profit, which was in-line with Street estimates. However, the FMCG company’s operating margins contracted 99 basis points, while gross margins were compressed 574 bps on year due to higher tea prices.

Ajanta Pharma: The company reported a 64 per cent on-year rise in consolidated net profit for December quarter on the back of a 15 per cent rise in revenues. Consolidated net profit rose to Rs 177 crore for the quarter ended December 31 mainly on account of robust sales, from Rs 108 crore for the corresponding period a year ago.

Gujarat Fertiliser: The company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs. 97.25 crore for the December quarter as against a net loss of Rs. 56.3 crore in the corresponding period a year ago. Gujarat State Fertilizers’ consolidated revenue from operations rose 18.74 per cent to Rs 2,146.14 crore for the third quarter of the current financial year.
